I have an ameritron al 1200 and a 4 el steppir. They both preform
beautifully except for one curious thing. On 20 I can not get more than
600w output with 100w of exciter power. On a dummy load I get the full
1.5 kw with 100w of exciter power. SWR is flat and I have no trouble
getting 1.5 kw on other bands with as little as 55 watts on 17m
I would appreciate any ideas to help me solve this puzzle
