There are nearly a thousand air freight forwarders in the US that do not
have the volume and handling problems of UPS/FedEX/USPS. Many are very
competent in logistics, handling and door to door speed. With the big
carriers...If you don't fit into their handling system, then look in the
Yellow Pages under "Air Cargo Services" and interview the terminal manager,
and yes you can actually talk to real people.

Trucking is necessary from pickup to delivery and All Risk Insurance can be
obtained from the carrier or your own insurance company if you supply them
with a executed "Bill of Lading". Collecting from UPS/FedEx is difficult,
however I've found that Postal Insurance collection is much easier if you
comply with the requirements.

Firstly, ordinary handling (e.g., UPS/FedEx Exp/ USPS)
is completely disregarded. This leaves the trucking
industry, with its LTL (Less-Than-Full-Load) freight
handling abilities.
