I was looking at the original Heath schematic for a SB-1000 and seen it gave
only 700 Vac for the HV ac on the transformer for plate voltage. This cant be
right and has to be a mis-print I would think. Even though they use a doubler,
they give 3100 Vdc for the no-load plate voltage. That would require 1090 Vac
from the transformer then doubled. The loaded voltage was given as 2700 Vdc and
to me the regulation aint real good as thats almost 14.8% difference. Most all
I've ever dealt with ran about 12-13% and the worst about 14% for one cutting
it really close on the size but this is besides the point and just me
opinionating. Anyhow, the voltage they shown was the concern that the 700 Vac
had to be in error. I figured some might want to know this just in case they
went to check it.
