i would like the new Alpha to havea mind meld option, so i will not require a 
computer.......just think about it.

serial port is essentially obsolete and should be replaced with a more 
up-to-date port. The reply was "Thank you for your input. We are 
discontinuing the 87A line."

A bit disappointing that the serial port is still in the newer design.
