| Folks, You may debate this forever. The technique has worked for 40 or 50 years. It is NOT a permanent fix. Something akin to using a cap to cure grid-cathode shorts. If ya gets lucky fine....if not the scrap heap is still an option. Bye the way, some x-ray tubes have graphite backed anodes...we still use the same method.
