How would one know?  The tube is colored ceramic.  Disconnect the 
HV!!!  Then you could turn it on for a few minutes and see if it gets 
warm.  NOTICE!!!:  Disconnect and or DISCHARGE the HV before you 
stick your hands in there!!!  WARNING WARNING Be SAFE!!
