Relax, Bert.

I was just pointing out that a connector designed for mass produced cheap 
audio stuff "might" not be the best for a two or three thousand dollar ham 
radio.
Nowhere did I recommend putting $100 dollar connectors on my ICOM. I would 
be happy with some fifty cent RCA jacks.
