I also grew up with a Cosmophone.  Mine was a Cosmophone 35.  Dave Bell was 
my Elmer, and he leant me his out-of-service Cosmophone when I was 14 years 
old (1972).  I operated that rig for years.  After he got it back, he 
donated it to the ARRL museum and it is the very rig that sits in the museum 
in Newington.
Chokes me up just to think about it.  Neat rig.
