You make it sound as if Joe Ham could slap an amplifier together over
a weekend and live happily ever after.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
The design of high power RF circuits is one of the trickiest thing in
electronics. If you are good at it then good for you, but don't expect
it from every ham in town. It's a skill that requires years to hone to
perfection.
