Ken,  If you put 4KV on the plate of a 4-1000 in GG and pay close  attention 
to input matching, 100 watts will give you close to legal limit no  problem. 
Personally, I do NOT see any sense in running a pair of those tubes at  the 
same parameters as a single tube.  If you are looking for much more  power than 
legal limit, more drive to a pair will make a lot of  power.  I'd say a single 
tube would be the way to go (all things being  equal with a pair).  Lou
