In big professional tx's for HF, they seemed generally (there were exceptions) 
to go for something around a 3 times power increase between models - 1kW, 3kW, 
10kW, 30kW etc. Even these steps seem a bit small. So 100watts - 450 watt - 
1500 watt seem the right sort of steps in the ham world. But in the UK, we're 
rated at the power at the antenna. You might be surprised how much loss LDF4-50 
is claimed to have at 160m......In the days of 10 watts input on 160, there 
were some whose '10 watts' was derived from 6 813s in push pull parallel...
