I have looked in the amps reflector as well as in the ARRL index for
QST and QEX
and I have been unable to locate an article that I would like to read
again. This is
especially frustrating since I made a copy of it and put it SOMEWHERE and can
not find the copy either.
It was probably 5 to 10 years ago (but not sure) and the article was
on regulating
a HV supply using AC mains control. It had an SCR or Triac controller on the
AC mains not unlike a basic lamp dimmer circuit and sampled the HV output
with a voltage divider that drove an op amp and that controlled the
SCR/Triac.
My interest is NOT in HV regulating but I think the circuit might be a useful
starting point for another application.
