Folks:

I grew up in the early era of Mr. Wizard, Renwal Electrostatic Generators,
crystal Radios, and Heathkits. I know the TWO distinct differences
between an 807 and a 1625 tube. I also know an ARC- 5 when I see one.
I suspect many here know these artifacts of Technology history, too.

While looking for information about residual gas in transmitting tubes, I
found this article, a very good read:

http://www.smecc.org/r__m__r__residual_gases.htm

After reading this, I looked to the root source of the article and found
SMECC ,

http://www.smecc.org

A great organization that is described below. Please check it out, and
look through your junk boxes to see what yoiu can cotribute to their
Mission:

                                                         SMECC: Our
Mission:
Preserving Engineering, Communications and Computation History
We seek the three dimensional artifacts, the papers and thoughts of those
who pioneered the technology.

Sincerely, Pat Barthelow aa6eg@hotmail.com
