The Canadian Hammond/Viewstar PT-2500 and the improved B&W PT-2500A had 
no problem making 1700-1800W out even on 10M with a simple 100W of 
drive.

The original version goes back to the 70's.

3-500's will make good power if the input circuit is correct and if the 
HV is adequate... The Henry 3K I had in the shack for years made 1800 
watts out whilst driven by an anemic Omni 6+... The reasons? Correct 
input tank and stiff HV... And those tubes look so pretty at cherry 
red...
