It can be made as complex or simple as you desire. When coming in for a
day/night of operating, switch on the amp and go draw a cup of coffee/807,
and check the packet cluster spots. By that time, your 3 minutes are up, and
the amp is ready to go to work. Another cheap idea is to get a three-minute
egg timer. Regardless of your method, Eimac recommends only one on/off cycle
per day. If you make multiple visits to the shack per day, you might want to
bite the bullet and install an electronic timer to handle the chore.

I have 8877's that are over 40 years old, and still making full power. Just
follow the Eimac rules and recommendations, and you will be a happy camper!
