The tube has to be in or you have to add its capacity parallel to the
resistor.

ok, quick question...(it'll be a poll)
 
DO I leave the tube connected to the tank circuit and put on a 1/2w resistor
or disconnect the tube from the tank to do the sweeps for tuning
calculations
 
some say leave the tube in.
 
 
I get quite a bit of difference with the tube in. I put 1500ohms to ground
of course amp is OFF, and sweep thru to find the best position for my tank
taps on each band.
