 Hi Ulf,

you may place and mount the starting capacitor in the mains supply compartment
or wherever you have enough space. A few feet of cable should do no harm at 
50Hz. 
You may even shield this cable by using the shield of a piece of RG-213.

I prefer the simpler solutions instead using hard to find parts, as spare parts 
will be
hard to find again.
