[Amps] re problem with VL-1000

I have a ham friend who just purchased a new Yaesu VL-1000. He used it for a 
few days on 120 vac and it worked fine. He then brought in 240 vac into his 
ham shack but the amp will not turn on! Anybody on here who's had this 
problem. The 240 vac does show up at the proper pins at the input of the 
amp.   Fern
