Too high of Z for that. Also, what about harmonic suppression?

Eons ago, I had an amplifier built from 16 sweep tubes (6KD60 in parallel;
it had an output impedance of about 600 ohms. That was quite easily matched
to 50 ohms with a wideband transformer.
It was quite a viable amplifier for the lower HF bands.
That guy probably did something close and that may even explain the missing
band switch. At least it might be a good source of parts, but expensive
