The 813s are similar to the 572Bs But at 3kV plate voltage have a bit more
power gain at HF frequencies in GG operation.

I'm not sure what your talking about/going off about....?
Lots of discussion here about using 813s for amplifiers. You are correct.
They are a economical way to go. I'm not sure credit cards have anything to
do with it though.
