Aha!  Then you're probably using chimneys and a blower.  I usually use
horizontal cooling with axial fans, and blow the air both above and
below the socket, so the pins stay cool.  Different approach!

I actually have quite a few of those those Ceramic Sockets in EF
Johnson.  I was fortunate enough to get a substantial collection of
various QRO parts directly from the estate of the Amp Man himself Bill
Orr W6SAI (rest his soul) in Palo Alto.  I always liked the other
plastic sockets because of their super air flow capabilities around the
pins.
