Considering what I have in the 100' 45G installation (price concrete and
steel lately), guy lines, and antennas, the 25G and antennas, I could
purchase one whale of a *SO2R station* (Rigs and Amps) and that's not
counting anything for labor.

I used a Tokyo Hy-Power HL-1.5Kfx for several months and it was one of
the nicest amps I've ever owned. Second to none for fit and finish and
absolutely no problems with operation. Last I knew the present owner
was quite happy with it as well. OTOH I've never had one of the solid
state, legal limit amps, nor have I had an auto tune HF amp.

There seems to be a mystique about Alpha Amps. They built a good
reputation. Except for when they first came out I've never been drawn
to them any more than any of the other top end amps. For manual tune
I'd still go with the Emtron and am looking at the Emtron for 6-meters
although OM and Alpha have nice 6-meter amps as well.
