Oh, in AB1 all the drive power will go to the output as well.
That is the plan for my 4x 4CX250B amplifier with grounded screen and
control grid connected to cathode. Driven by another 4CX250B with
same configuration.

  I like the 304TL eventought the gain is low.
In fact 4 of them should run very linear in class AB1 operation with
no grid current yet provide more than legal limit output for USA.

A pair of 6C21's will do a nice job also. Use 7.5V on the filaments and with
some healthy air fow you can use 1000T specs. With just a muffin fan treat
them as a 450TL.

If you want the ultimate glow factor its hard to beat a quad of 304TL's with
about 600W of drive....
