For sale single 8877 robust (built like a tank) HF power amplifier for
sale 160m, 80m/75m, 40m, 30m(future if power becomes legal), 20m, 17m,
15m, and 10m. No 12m. Large and heavy suited for home station use.
Large floor-cabinet on casters houses power supply Peter Dahl Hypersil
plate transformer, oil-filled filter caps, swinging choke for voltage
regulation, variac control of High Voltage with 4,000VDC (at 1.5A). K2AW
Silicon Alley rectifier modules, large bleeder resistor string, soft-start
(step-start) built-in, 3 minute timer for tube warm-up, 4 inch Simpson
lighted wide-vu analog meter for plate voltage.
RF deck is over-built with over-sized tune and load vacuum variable caps
and a roller inductor. Pi tuned inputs per band selected per a
front-panel band-switch. Dedicated transformer and chokes for tube
filament voltage for which is potentiometer adjustable. Vacuum relays for
T/R switching, extremely robust. 3 inch wide-vu lighted Simpson analog
meters for grid current and plate current on RF deck.
Built for reliability and robust operation, only protective measures
include HV fuse, meter glitch fuses, circuit breakers in power supply
mains, and breaker at RF deck entry (no grid-trip circuit).
Eimac 8877 included with amplifier, but also have spare new Eimac YC-257
a.k.a. 3CPX1500A7 available also, as an option.
