[Amps] Tempo 2002 Tuning

Hello All,

just got a tempo 2002 2m amplifier. reading manual and it says that when 
tuned correctly you should have .8 to 1 amp and 50to 80 ma on the grid. 
ok, when you place the meter in grid position it goes bellow 0 on the 
meter. the manual says this is normal.  i am seeing a kw out but not at 
these readings. any suggestions before i melt the grids?
