You are correct.
The problem was with the 12V supply, not the 50V supply.
Those problems have been eliminated for the most part.
The 1300 suffered from a lot of growing pains and bad reviews, thus the
lower "average".
Unlike some tube amps solid state amps don't suffer fools lightly.
