The SB220 is considered by many to be a light to medium duty amplifier, as the cooling fan and the voltage doubler power supply cannot support operating those 3-500Z key down for significant time. I have one, but haven't seem them for $500 in a number of years.

The Chippewa, unlike the later Warrior, was overbuilt from the start, having a separate HV power supply box as big as the PA section. It also had a real blower ducted through the two 4-400A chimneys. I have one of these also.

I think the two Heathkits represent completely different design goals from the company. SB220 was an incredible deal for its capability, no doubt. If you just want RF power, and don't mind the limited duty factor, its a nice unit.
