After finding corrosion in PL259s and Type"N" connectors, I started
flooding each connector with DC-5, 160 meters through 432
repeaters. I took a repeater connector apart some thirty years later
and it looked as new as the day I installed it, I'm a FAN !!

His uses do not go back far enough, as I said earlier, DC4 Compound
(dielectric grease) was developed to use in the spark plug seals on
B17s in WWII by Dow Corning. Its use prevented arcing at very high
altitudes.
