At 10:04am EST Easter Sunday Dana delivered our 1st (7 lb 6 oz) harmonic!
Baby (Graeme) and Dana both doing fine.

Not that I'm pushing for a future contester... But, Graeme seems to be
picking up on dual receive of CW signals FB. Looks a little funny with the
earphones on though!

...I know there was an article written by K1DG (I think) on using CATV
hardline for ham applications...seems like mebbe a year or so ago....but I
cannot find it in my anals...ur ah journals, and official organs.

Specifically looking for coaxial impedance transforming 75 ----> 50 ohms
and vice versa...anybody remember where this article was, was it in CQ?

Please leeme know so I can exploit some recently obtained hardline-TNX

NF6H Sprint Results:

20M QSOs: 57
40M QSOs: 42
------------
Total : 99

My top 7 most worked list:
VE4VV 12
K9ZO 9
KA9FOX 9
K4PQL 9
N6TR 8
KE9I 8
AA5BT 8

This is the first Internet sprint I've played in, and it was a lot of
fun. Started tinkering with LOG 4.05 before the contest trying to set
it up for the sprint. Thirty minutes wasnt long enough to figure
everything out, but it worked well enough. There sure was a BIG difference
between 34 WPM and 35WPM though!

Loudest signals on both 20 and 40 were AA5BT and K4PQL. It's amazing how
dead the bands were when 02:00Z came around!

In ending my not-entirely-serious message last week on the Florida Contest
Group's request for special treatment under ARRL's geographic club
computation rules, I ended with a note about 4U1WB. Apparently some took
the 4U1WB bit seriously. From some of the responses directed to me, it
appears that either some readers missed the point of my message, or I wasn't
clear in conveying the point, or maybe some of both.ny of the operators, I
would be surprised if they didn't refuse it if offered (if that were
possible). Further, they do not qualify under today's criteria. I was
attempting to be slightly flip to illustrate my point of view, but
apparently comments about the DXCC list are taken by some with great
seriousness. Sorry for any confusion. 73 de K3ZJ

All Real Contesters [tm] and Real DXers [tm] have tinnitus, he
may as well get a head start on the competition. By his first
birthday he'll be up to 35 wpm with a pot belly and all ready
for the hobby.

(Hey, all those people who said I was so loud in the SprINT -
I wasn't using an amp, I really wasn't!! 100 watts into
metal 100+ ft up just makes a fair noise).

UA9S & UA9W are in zone 16 by the map. For all of my life
the guys in UA9S & UA9W sign zone 17 in the contests except
for a very few. As far as I know this has never been
a matter for dispute, but it should be.

I thought that some BY8 were in zone 23, but I am
often wrong in my assumptions.

UA8T and UA8V are in zone 18.

I tried using LOG for the first time...about the middle of the contest I
somehow managed to dump the log/dupesheet to disk. Not knowing how to get
it back, I restarted the program, just as N6TR calls me...of course now
the program has lost the last name it got. Not knowing how to reload the
last name, I exited and used a text editor to look at the log- thanks for
waiting, Tree! (I'm glad you don't use a binary file format!) Also
frequently ended up in the wrong mode and called CQ when I should have sent
my call.
I thought 20m condx were pretty good in IL...was using a LazyH on
20m and dipole on 40. As usual, natural selection killed off the unusual
names.

Randy,

It would help a lot to know what kind of system you are on... DOS? UNIX?
etc.? Networked? Workstation?

I can point you to freeware for UNIX systems.
