George, don't be so sure that there are spikes comming from the 781. That may
be
what ETO is saying, but I was unable to measure any with my scope. Repairing
the pin diodes removed the apparent spike on the 87A's output LED's. BTW, I
waited nearly 2 months for mine to turn around. Good luck anyway. 73 de Fred.

Subject: SquINT
Thanks to all for the fun. Lindsay (10) made about 40 Qs, ages
from 3 to 80. Got more OTs near the end as they caught on to
what was happening. She had a big pile-up near the end, and
kindly talked to a few people past the official end, in spite
of a little kid cop yelling "The contest is over!!" - sheesh,
they learn everything in this event.
Score = about 40 x something + something else = whatever. We
may be DQd as my wife called a local (WD5N, favorite color black)
on the 'phone to tell him to look for us near the end and he gave
us a Q. Too bad - so sue us[tm].
Lindsay's participation certificate arrived the day before SquINT,
and it was nice to work Alyssa at KO9Y and thank her dad for that.
Thanks also to Stu for suggesting another event, and hope everyone
enjoyed it as much as we did.
Perhaps we can have more notice of the next one, and agree on any
rules or lack thereof. Kids tend to be booked up a few days in
advance. I didn't notice any pile-ups for unusual colors, so I
don't think anyone was trying for mults and a high score.
