Hi ALL,
I think its great that everyone wants to play in the contest. However
SS was designed to allow stations here in the US to compete with each
other. Usually antennas used in this test are lower to the ground to
take avantage of the higher angle signals, which is opposite for the dx
signals.
Just as a thought why not allow DX to work each other and put some
boundrys on that to make it a domestic contest for them as well. EXAMPLE
JA-HL-YB, VK-ZL, G-GW-GI-GJ,
SS is very popular in the states and again it allows stations with a
tribander at 50 feet and wire antennas to be very competitive. This type
of station is typical in the US primaryly because of the properety
limitations and the cost.
