John,

Thanks for your note.

I am *most assuredly not* going to quit contesting, and
I'm not recommending that to anyone else!  

My point in the message was not that contesting is "bad", but
that contesters must be aware of the impact of our "sub-hobby"
and be sensitive to our fellow amateurs.  Mainly I think that
means that we take reasonable care to avoid stroking up our
contest operation on top of other uses already in progress.

Contesters, presuming they exercise good manners, have the
same rights to the bands as all the other various interest
groups.  No more -- no less.
