Hi Bill,
I think that having Dayton so close to WPXCW does hurt the WPX some, but
having it on Memorial Day weekend hurts it MORE. At least that is what I
hear. However, since the US activity has traditionally been poor in this
contest, it is hard to tell for sure. What I think hurts activity the
most, it the usually great wx in May, especially after a winter of cold,
snow and dreary gray. Few guys really want to spend the weekend in the
shack when it is sunny and 70 degrees. Fortunately, the rest of the world
seems to enjoy operating this contest.
As you say, thank goodness for the Russians.
