What I do, when a station calls me and CT tells me it's a dupe I just go ahead
and work
em, assuming not a serno contest. As he's replying to me I make sure I copy his
call and
data carefully and compare it to my log entry. Sometimes I'M wrong and then I
correct
the log. Usually, they are (as was pointed out) just operating sans dupe sheet
or
logbook. I give them my data, I don't log them cuz I've already got them in my
log
already, and they go away happy. That way I have no dupes in my logbook to
depress my
totals.
Where sernos are given like SS and others, it sometimes means that I'll tell
him B4 and
give him HIS QSO#. Couple of times he's said NO, not in log, so I work him
again.
Usually they say OH TU! and they are gone. Either way.. I end up in their log
and they
are in mine and no dupes. Not a perfect system, I know.. but seems to workfor
me.
