  Hi All....

If you were wondering why all of a sudden KU8E was so loud on 80 meters
during the contest this past weekend ???? Well it wasn't because I put up
a new antenna !!! I was giving the NQ4I station a test drive by doing an 80
meter single band effort. Rick is rebuilding his station and John, K4BAI
operated 15 meters as W4KZ and Ian, K5ZM came all the way from Oregon to do 20
meter SB as NQ4I, along with my effort.

I was using an FT1000MP running a KW to a four square. Because the station is
still under construction I didn't have any beverages. I sure could of used them
on Saturday night with all the rain static. Friday night was real quite as was
the last hour on Sunday night. I apologize to those of you I heard in there
that I couldn't pull through !! I do have to say this is the most fun I have
had on 80 meters. This was the first station that I have acually been able to
run EU from on 80. I think my best hour was a 65/hr or so on Friday night. I
also had some great DX like 4X,5B,C31 come back to my CQ's. This was also the
first time I can recall working all the EU Russian countries on a single band
in a DX contest. About 10 JA's an a couple UA0's went into the log as well.
Rick has plans in the future for a 3 el yagi so it's going to be even better
next time....

I would be interested in getting some signal reports from anyone who recalls
working me. I would be interested in heard how far down we were from W1MK and
KC1XX ??? Also, congratulations to W1MK... I think he has won 80SB on CW for
about 10 straight years now !!!

                       73's Jeff KU8E
