The Northern California Contest Club announces a weekly Sprint-like practice. Our objectives for the NCCC Sprint (NS) are: -- Keep brains nimble between the various "real" sprints. -- Provide a regular practice to initiate newcomers to the art and science of the sprint. For the present, NS will be a weekly CW contest on 40, 80 and 160 meters, but bands and modes may change from week to week to SSB and RTTY. [No NCCC Sprint before major contests] Day: Thursday US time (Fri Zulu) Time: 0340-0400Z 2340-0000 Eastern Daylight Time 2240-2300 Central 2140-2200 Mountain 2040-2100 Pacific Frequencies: 7040, 3540, 1820 Format: Similar to Internet Sprint: -- Call "CQ NS", "NS" etc. -- Send #, Name from previous QSO, State. -- Send your name on first QSO. -- Work dupes after 3 intervening Q's; ok if *either* station has worked 3 others. -- QSY rule: After 1 or 2 Q's, as appropriate, move 1 KHz or more. Guidelines: Keep the cw speed at 20 wpm or below *for the first ten minutes* to encourage newcomers. At any time, please match the speed of the responding or CQing station and be mindful of on-going QSO's. Reporting: If you wish, report score and comments to n6zfo@arrl.net (not to CQ-Contest) We'll post results on the 3830 Reflector each week. We hope to see you frequently on Thursday nights. Join us on the NCCC Contest net immediately following on 3853. 73 Bill N6ZFO Ken N6RO Dean N6DE _______________________________________________ CQ-Contest mailing list CQ-Contest@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/cq-contest |
