A bit more expensive but, if desired, you could also go entirely with USB
ports using WinKey by K1EL ($30) and two USB to serial converters (Keyspan
unit recommended $40)and, if necessary for laptop, a USB port expander ($4
at Frys).

My understanding is that N1MM supports WinKey. I have not used N1MM but have
used WinKey with the above arrangement and it works great with the KeySpan
converter. However, another converter I tried by SIIG  did not.

As far as I know, with N1MM you cannot do both CAT and
CW from the same serial port.  You can do CW from the
LPT port, so I would do that (hopefully your laptop
has one parallel port).   If not, the other option is
to use a USB-to-serial adapter for the CAT connection,
and the "real" serial port for CW.

Or, if you have a PCMCIA/CardBus slot, you can add an
adapter there for either serial or parallel.
