Well, this unit goes between the K9AY control box and the radio, and
disconnects the whole thing, preamp and all, from the radio.

I'm not sure whether RF coupled to the loop could damage the K9AY box and
its preamp, but this hasn't happened so far...

I'd imagine that, with an antenna like the k9ay, you'd also want to switch
out the preamp, too?  Or do you not use one?

(I'm considering putting up a pennant this summer--that's why I'm
asking.)
