746PRO is different from 746. PRO is completely digital similarly to TS870.
My friend YU1AO has had one and sold it because of overloading problem.
IC765 is a very good radio, but IT IS A BIIIG ONE :-))).
Too many kilograms my friend.
I have been an ICOM fan for many years, but after working with TS850S
I admit it is a better rig for contesting.
I do not like other Kenwood radios - 930 and 940, though. TS830 is very good
but not user friendly for contests. Would like to try TS950SDX someday :-).
Every one has his/her preferences, so everyone has his right to choose.
