Uh, right...but WHAT does it configure? I read the same manual...
 
I did pull the jumper off, & it performed flawless for all 8 hrs of the  
ILQP. I put it back on after the 'test, & it began tuning the rig!  I  am 
pretty 
certain it has something to do with enabling a mic with the option to  tune the 
vfo (like many stock desk mics do).
