I applaud your initiative. The problem here is phone below 7040, which is
the low end of Region 1 phone band.
The whole thing has become a nuisance on 40 and 160 !

I have already sent the attached message to the CQ organization:

The CQWW SSB contest is absolutely out of control.
I cannot believe that your organization is fostering the use of such wide
intra-band splits on 40-meters this weekend, right down to 7000 kHz for the
CQWW SSB contest. Why don't contest rules prohibit the use of North
American CW frequencies during the contest? The entire 7000-7100 kHz
segment of 40-meters is unusable as I write this and it's attributed to CQWW
operators who selfishly believe that their contest activities trump all
other modes of communication..
If you can't make the contest "fit" within 40-meters due to other regions'
band plans, then eliminate 40-meters from the contest. The answer is not to
enable reckless behavior which results in the obliteration of all other
non-contest band activity. This contest represents the epitome of total
disrespect to fellow operators who wish to use the low end of 40-meters for
purposes not related to the CQWW SSB contest.
Please, please, please -- for next year's CQWW SSB contest, disqualify ANY
station whose operation occurs below 7080 kHz. Thank you.
