Removing someone from the log before submitting it is as unfair as
confirming a QSO and not logging it, IMHO. They might lose their W/K/N
mults and get penalized for a NIL to boot. Sorry, I just don't see the point of
removing zero-pointers. There's no cost to leaving them in.
To me, the zeropointers only create a problem if they displace 2- or
3-pointers. And they only do that if you choose to work the zero pointer at
the expense of a DX contact in a mini-pileup.
If the guy calls you during a lull in your rate, log him and move on. And
don't remove it. If the guy calls you while you've got a decent little JA
pileup
going, just keep working the JAs.
Finally, one suggestion: most casuals and non-contesters understand
the difference between a CQ and a CQ DX. So if the zero-point thing is a
big issue, change your CQ to 'CQ DX CQ DX <call> <call> Contest' or
something similar.
