Ron:

Not in a contest, but in an IOTA activation, same band
 230-240 khz separation  each station , antennas at
more than 300 ft  one Horizontal pol and other
vertical.
try to have the most insolation between  the stations,
band pass and some coax stub can provide an extra for
the operation.
