Alpha and Delta are not the only phonetics that are easily confused. When I
got my vanity call, it never occurred to me that Papa & Foxtrot could be
confused but if I don't enunciate the Pa Pa as opposed to Papa it is often
mistaken. I was even "Not in the log" once over that one. Luckily the QSL
Manager listened to my plea and found W5CFT in the log and issued the card.
Cecil and I are often confused for each other.

Yes - alpha and delta mix ups - quite the pain. This problem occurs
very frequently for me and I'm happy someone else has pointed out the
problem. I thought that it was the way I say delta which was being
heard as alpha. My call; Kilo 3 Delta November Echo often comes back
as Kilo 3 Alpha November Echo. I may consider using Kilo 3 David
Nancy Edward or Kilo 3 Denmark Norway England more often as
alternatives. Some of my friends think "Dumb Neurotic Ed is more
  appropriate for me!
