How so?

The ARRL clearly states (in the HF Contest FAQ sheet) that you are allowed
to correct obvious typos (immediately after the end of the contest) and
syntactic errors relating to the acceptance robot.

Since they specifically define these activities as being within the rules,
they can not, by definition, be called "unethical".
