There are good reasons for locating a Skimmer off-site, most notably
preventing interference from the transmitters in a multi-multi, and I'm
delighted that CQWW has addressed this head-on.
If anyone who has a remote Skimmer would like help in getting connected
to the RBN before the contest, please contact me ASAP (n4zr@contesting.com).
Felipe, PY1NB, Nick, F5VHI and I are working hard to improve the
reliability of the RBN telnet node before the contest. Both in the near
term, and looking farther into the future, we could use some help. If
someone out there has a Unix server that he or she is willing to make
available to run DX Spider, either short or long-term, Felipe can make
arrangements to spread the load between the two machines.
