Recently one contest (ARRL SweepStakes) did just that.

The MultiOp category and the Unlimited (assisted) category were split into
LP and HP.

Hi,

Just our of curiosity.

Is there any rationale for big contests, where disperse a small participant
base into many categories might not be an issue, not to carry M/* LP or even
M/* QRP?

Why ALL multiop categories are positioned at the same time the higher power
level? Obviously nobody prevent a LP or QRP M/* to happen, but it would be
just way to unfair in competitive terms to be realistic.
