Two forms of contesting I really enjoy, do not use cut numbers. They don't
usually use "leading zeroes" (or "leading T's") either: ARRL SS, and
Sprinting. Those are events that "respect the exchange" and the exchange
REQUIRES many meaningful elements - especially clear repeat-back of call
signs - than the "easy tests" which seem to center around 5NN.

I think I'm perfectly adept at copying cut numbers but sometimes I'm thrown
for a loop even in clear copy. e.g. last weekend ATNA (aka "1091"), I had
to ask for a fill on, because none of that had anything my brain was
sync'ing up with.
