I do not know how hard this is to do. but a fix for the cheaters would be if like a radio Station does where it's somewhat live with people calling in on the phone a delay.

There is a Public station near me that takes in callers a LOT and they have a LONG delay. it is Like2 minutes long!

This would cure the cheaters from using it. yet allow the rest that just want to listen to be able to.

What Puzzles me is why "THIS" streaming one had such a backlash? How many times has a Certain KH6 Station streamed during a major contest? And no one said anything about it?

I can see the cause for concern, however it can be solved easily. Use the
side tone out of a keyer instead of the build in side tone from the radio,
thus eliminating what he is actually sending over the live stream. Worth
the extra effort, well only Eric can make that call. I for one would have
had much enjoyment out of listening to this. Perhaps next time.

Since there seems to be too much concern over this, though no ill intent

Eric,

You made it clear what you were doing, and I am quite sure Clive
understood. I think the logic behind his question has to do with whether
it is within the spirit of the contest - especially this one. Let's say,
as a result of the announcement or advertisement , 15 DX stations and 25
USA stations who are not even going to send in their log called you, just
for fun and the novelty of it, so they could listen to their own signal at
your end via Internet.

What if some have enough QRM or QRN that they could only copy whether you
came back to them by listening via internet? Fair to your competitors?

It is cool, but I've always had a problem with this, regardless of what
contest.
