[CQ-Contest] Multistate sections? (Was "Move to disband MAR section...")

Please help my memory.

Did not Delaware used to be part of the MD-DEL-DC Section, or was that just
the MDD Traffic Net (for you old CD Party geezers, I was K3OAE RM MD).

I have a vague recollection of DEL becoming a separate ARRL Section, but my
earliest SS logs (1968) show it as already a mult.

If DE was, in fact, in the MD-DC Section, was there no separate DE mult for
SS?
